Our stay extended from January 11 to February 4, 2024, spanning 24 days. This comprehensive review aims to guide future travelers in selecting a suitable hotel in Delhi, India.

Situated strategically in the heart of Delhi, the Hyatt Centric Hotel boasts a central location with ample parking, including complimentary valet service. Its proximity to the Delhi metro station, just a three-minute walk away, ensures convenient transportation. The hotel earns a solid five-star rating for its exceptional location.

Check-in Experience:

Our reservation, made through Expedia from Canada on November 3, 2023, was confirmed with a credit card. However, upon our arrival on January 11, 2024, around 3:30 PM, the check-in process posed challenges, resulting in an hour-long wait. Frustrated, I requested to speak directly to the hotel manager.

After persistent requests, I met with Ranjana Pal, Director of Hyatt’s Human Resources who apparently was also managing the hotel. Her apologetic and courteous demeanor swiftly resolved our check-in issues, and we were promptly assigned a room. Ms.

Pal remained attentive throughout our stay, and I thank her for her gesture of allowing us to extend our stay for an additional day without charge when our travel plans changed.

Accommodation:

Our specific request for a room with a king-size bed overlooking the pool was fulfilled. The room was spacious, featuring a full-size tub and a separate shower stall. Daily cleaning by the efficient staff maintained a comfortable environment. In an effort to apologize for the delayed check-in, the hotel sent a cake to our room, a heartwarming gesture.

Dining Experience:

Our room rate included breakfast, and the hotel's expansive dining room offered a diverse menu. The breakfast buffet, served by a courteous and attentive staff, provided a delightful experience. Special mention goes to Mr. Rishikesh Acharya, the food and beverage assistant manager, who consistently welcomed us in the morning, ensuring our food preferences were met with utmost care and politeness.

Conclusion:

Despite the initial hiccup during check-in, our stay at the Hyatt Centric Hotel in Delhi was marked by a prime location, comfortable accommodation, and exceptional service from the hotel staff. Special thanks to Ms. Ranjana Pal and Mr. Joseph Kati Room Division Manager for making us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay at the hotel. We unequivocally plan to stay at this hotel again when we decide to revisit India.

Do foreigners making hotel reservations in India from abroad pay more?

Do individuals reserving hotel accommodations in India from foreign countries incur higher costs? While awaiting check-in at the Hyatt Centric hotel lobby, I pondered the prolonged delay, speculating about a potential overbooking situation. To investigate, I accessed the hotel's website and attempted a fresh reservation for the same dates as our confirmed booking from November 3, 2023, spanning January 11 to February 4, 2024.

To my surprise, the 24-day stay at Hyatt Centric amounted to Indian Rupees 269,011.68 for our reservation made from Canada. In contrast, the reservation I initiated from the hotel lobby for the identical dates totaled Rupees 205,093.44. Both amounts, inclusive of all taxes and for the same room category, are illustrated in the provided booking information images posted below.

The dissimilarity in prices between the Canadian and in-lobby bookings amounted to Rupees 63,918.24, showcasing a notable reduction when booking within India. Quite perplexing indeed.

The difference — Rs 63,918.24 — is paid for the same room, same dates, same hotel.
