Why you should NOT take a bus from Mumbai to Goa

To start off, while the word sleeper bus sounds comfortable, they are not comfortable in any way. Most sleeper buses leave late at night. The bus is dark, there is no head room and each area is meant for two people. The photo shown here has the partition removed for the photo, what you see on top is for four people to sleep on! There are no washrooms on these buses. They do stop on occasion at some places where you find a washroom, but they are not clean. The bus route is such that you travel thorough winding roads while climbing hills or coming down from hills. These bus drivers drive for long hours and late night driving through such roads is scary! Click on the photo above to see the full photograph of the road. I took this photo on my return bus trip from Goa to Mumbai. The return trip I made was also in the day time. Imagine driving through these roads in the middle of the night on a bus. Its much better to fly or take the train. for a trip from Mumbai to Goa, the best option if you are on a budget is to take the train.  Travel from Mumbai to Goa by Train -  Timings, Ticket prices  >> Information on Traveling to Goa by Air >>
