The world’s largest democracy India is a multicultural society with many religions. Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians and Jains celebrate their festivals in India.
Throughout India holidays and festivals of most religions are celebrated depending on the demographics of the area. For instance the festival of Baisakhi is predominantly a festival associated with Punjab. While Baisakhi is celebrated by Hindus all over India on April 13th it is celebrated with a lot of fanfare in the province of Punjab.
